How to recover a missing MetaMask account after importing the Extension?

 For transacting on the Ethereum blockchain, you need to make sure that you have access to the MetaMask wallet. So, if you are already using MetaMask and have set up your wallet on it, then you will be given access to a wide range of services and features that are included in it. One of the most widely used services of this wallet is that you can create multiple accounts within it. But, there is one problem that you might face while using these accounts.

In case you ever forget your MetaMask Extension credentials and you restore your wallet through the secret recovery phrase, then these additional accounts would not be re-added automatically. Only the primary account i.e. Account 1 would be re-added automatically and you need to re-add the rest of the accounts manually.

But, being a new user, you may not be able to figure out the process to re-add your account, and to help you with this, we have given the details about the same right here in this post.

Note: A user does not need to get worried when an account is not restored because your funds would not be lost in this scenario. You will be able to regain access to the funds when your re-add the account.

Restoring an account through the MetaMask Wallet

By creating the new account, your previous accounts would be restored immediately, and to do so, here are the steps to be followed:

The first thing that you need to do is sign in with your MetaMask Wallet password

When you get into your account, please click on your profile icon at the top

This is present in the MetaMask drop-down menu

Click on the "Create account" button and then name your account one more time

Click "Create" and repeat the process for adding more accounts

Keep adding the account until you recover the account that you wished to re-add

Conclusion: In case you want to re-add Account 5, then you need to keep creating accounts up to account 5 to restore the previous account with this name. This is how easily you can regain access to your accounts that were not automatically restored when you imported your wallet using the secret recovery phrase. If you could not restore your account, log out and log in again using the MetaMask login password and then repeat the steps mentioned above.
